Discipleship is not a “one off” gap year.  Think your “Year in with God”, not a “Year out for God”.  We never “graduate” from the Jesus school of discipleship!  It’s a lifelong commitment to development.

To reflect that, and at the request of many of the church Leaders and trainees that we serve, we have developed DNA 2.  This is the ongoing wild journey for those trainees who have completed DNA 1, but who feel that their journey with him and with us is not yet over.

To do DNA 1, you need a call from God to development and discipleship through DNA.  But to do DNA 2, you need a clear focus for your future.  This might be your workplace, church leadership, youth leadership, student or prison work, church administration or praise & worship leading, etc, etc.  Would DNA 2 serve this focus, and do you still feel a connection with DNA?

DNA 2 builds on the work God has done in and through you on DNA 1.  Its primary focus is on Leadership Experience and Development.  Because by then if you are considering DNA 2 you will probably be very engaged with the life of local work or church and/or ministry Full or Part Time.  DNA 2 is deliberately designed to be less intensive but more focused.

For DNA 2 you’ll attend all 3 of the DNA Residentials, in September, March and July.  Here you will help the DNA Team pray with and look after the trainees on DNA 1 as part of your Leadership Development.  And you’ll have your own stream of training throughout, but in a smaller group environment (we usually have 4-12 trainees on DNA 2) with great access to a speaker on one topic for a day at a time.

In addition to the residentials you‘ll also come to 3 x 2 day Training Blocks, 1 per term, again to walk alongside the DNA 1 trainees and for your own training.

You’ll benefit from creating and presenting one project related to your calling over the course of your year on DNA 2 and will have termly placement visits from a DNA staff member, and be overseen by a local Line Manager.

Topics on DNA 2 include: Discipleship & Mentoring; Communication Skills; Vision; Sustainable Leadership and much more.

DNA is for anyone who wants to be used by God and make a difference with their life. When you come on DNA, you will be challenged, you will be encouraged, and you will have a new found family running alongside you.
