Our core values will give you a feel for the community that DNA creates.  We are church based.  We are Holy Spirit dependant.  We are a discipleship journey of head (understanding), hands (skills & gifts) and heart (character), with an overriding emphasis on the heart/character.  We are committed to women in leadership and ministry as to men.  We are about non-religious, relational Christianity.

Most years we have around 20-25 on DNA Year 1, usually about 50% male and 50% female.  And most years we’re joined by international trainees, which enrich our flavour.  The most common age of our trainees is 18-25, but every year sees trainees in their 30’s-60’s; there is no top limit!  Don’t let your age count you out – it is only a number!

Our curriculum covers an amazing array of current, challenging topics under 7 modules headed: Personal Discipleship; Biblical Studies; Foundational Theology; Evangelism; Church; Gender and Ethics; and Skills Development.  Enough to encourage and equip you to build foundations for life.

DNA was a life-changing year for me. I was strongly encouraged to explore leadership and throughout the year began to grow in confidence and in the belief that God had placed that call on my life. Having the DNA team helping me to step out during this period was so valuable. In short I feel my year with DNA was a real time of equipping and I view it as a vital year of my life in terms of my personal development and my faith.
Dave HallDNA trainee in City Church, Aberdeen 2012-2013
DNA was one of the real ‘turning points’ in my life. Through DNA, I learned much about God and myself. I finished my DNA year with a renewed focus, and a real sense of what God was calling me into, and a fresh confidence in who I am in God. DNA is for anyone who wants to be used by God and make a difference with their life. When you come on DNA, you will be challenged, you will be encouraged, and you will have a new found family running alongside you.
Sean Carnochan DNA trainee in Kings Fellowship, Inverness in 2010/11
I had never thought of myself as a leader before I did DNA. Over the year God broke into my life and brought healing and wholeness as well as unlocking giftings I didn’t know I had. The result was a completely changed person. I discovered more about the Holy Spirit and I experienced and encountered God. As a result of DNA I feel a renewed passion for God and a desire to serve him and continue to discover more about how I can put my faith into action. Everyone should do DNA!
