The international trip was amazing! We partnered with a church that had a very laid back approach to church services. Their main goal was to be relational with the the people that come to/partner with their church. We did quite a bit of stuff. We did some schools work, which challenged my leadership skills. One of the days we did schools work, the team was divided into pairs and did a few activities with the kids with the goal to teach some English. The second time we did schools work, we stayed together as a team and we split the teaching between us. We did youth and kids clubs which were great. The kids club involved many activities like face painting, outdoor games, songs, and other stuff. The youth club was mainly talking to the youth. We also went canoeing over one of the weekends with the church. I loved it! We got to camp at a little bay on a river and stay up super late. Throughout the trip, several of us got to deliver our testimonies to the church. We also did a couple days of practical work around the community. One of those days, Tim, Beth, Ben, Lola and I went to a school that had a sand pit. All of the sand that had been thrown out, we put back in. We also weeded out a little flower bed. On another day of practical work, we went and cleaned out someone’s barn/shed that had stuff accumulated over a matter of forty years or so.
