The Norway team arrived safely in Askim on Thursday 18th May and are serving their socks off and having a great time as they approach the midway point of their trip. Read on to hear what they have been up to:
The team have been building relationships with the local church and wider community and have helped serve in many different ways.
They helped steward the Tour of Norway cycling event, have lead worship in the church, helped at youth clubs and been in to the local schools amongst other things.
Here are some highlights from the team themselves:
We have been having a great time in Norway, filled with God moving in us and in the area
The days have been a mixed bag between some days been filled to the brim with things to do and other days have been slightly more.relaxed with focussing on building relationships with people here
I think the main highlights for us have been as follows:
The youth club that we attended was amazing fun and totally different to what we have in the UK. Firstly, it lasted 4 hours! Which is very long but it was a great time of fun with the kids and we did some worship and Ben shared then we just played games and did karaoke and all those kind of things!
The Church that we are at over here are allowed to send us into the primary school however they have never been allowed into the secondary school, but Libby and myself were allowed to go in! And they loved it so much that they asked us to stay for a second lesson
Yesterday we were in the primary school for their “English day” (all of the Scots were suitably offended – I kid) and we had 7 groups for half an hour at a time, it was a really challenging time because of the constant groups with no breaks but it was a really rewarding time!
Great work team, please do continue to pray for them as they enter the final week of their trip.
